SENIOR SUCCESS

The Rodney Cup has returned to the Cattery after a solid Round 3 win against the Tatura Bulldogs. Tatura came out hard and strong early leading by 24 points at quarter time.

After a rousing call to arms from Head Senior Coach John Lamont our lads dug deep to close the gap to 3 points at the half time break, still trailing by a whisker.

The half time spell provided time to reflect on the game, strategise and maintain the momentum with more words of inspiration from our coach, calling players to give their best, protect their team mates and go hard at the pill. Captain Matt Deane urged his players on and led them out to get the job done!

At the third term the Cats were in front by a goal and looking impressive. Some fine passages of play with more direct and clean ball movement supported momentum going deep into our attacking zone. Players down back, midfield and forward showing consistent form and hitting targets.

The final siren sounded on a 21 point victory for the Mooroopna Cats.

A well fought, well won match of senior football, showing promise for the future season.

Best players for the Cats: Hunt, Gorman, Dowling, Nield, Deane & Formica.

Mooroopna Cats 11.12.78
